Re: Alternate Core Documents
The only problem I have with full-auto weapons is the amount of dice rolling involved. I've switched to degrees of success for my group but at high levels where mini guns can be fired multiple times a turn, just rolling the damage slows down the game noticeably. On another note, I've found the monst...

Re: Alternate Core Documents
I would say it would fall under unarmed. Since it is basically the brass hooves of strangling people. Using it is also fundamentally the same as either strangling someone or trying to put them in a headlock from behind, at least from a game perspective. Though if you are worried about players trying...

Re: Alternate Core Documents
For maximum distance and speed, let's assume the pegasus is charging (when I originally wrote out the formulas several months ago, I used Sprint) and that the GM is silly enough to allow a pegasus to charge at a target they can't see (Pegasus Player: 'I charge!' GM: 'Ok...'. Unfortunately the charg...

Re: Alternate Core Documents
Not to mention we haven't addressed the absolutely physics breaking speed pegasi can move at. Y'know like how a 10/10 END/AGI Pegasi with FR 4 and a couple of buffs can hit Mach 2 with no negative consequences whatsoever. Thanqol should be able to back me up on the math I think. My group has sat dow...

Re: Alternate Core Documents
I like the look of this too I'll pass it by my players, and see what they think of it. I think they'll like it. If we end up using it, I'll post some feedback.
Giving virtues some mechanical effect seems like a good system, though a few more connection examples would be appreciated.

Re: Alternate Core Documents
I'll chime in and say that I'm in favour of said changes, or almost any changes to the burst/auto system. The current full auto system is almost unworkable for me. As a GM every time I bring in an NPC with an automatic weapon (or heaven forbid, multiple npcs) it just adds a huge amount of math and h...

Re: Alternate Core Documents
Demolitions Expert: (Level 6, Mechanical) How is cooking off a grenade going to differ from just throwing it outside of how it's roleplayed? Typically, whenever a friend of mine uses a grenade, the GM just takes into account the AoE and says it hits so long as they get the roll. If they don't, it d...

Re: Alternate Core Documents
A well armoured, level 11 high endurance Unicorn can be one-shotted by the blast of a double barrelled shotgun battlesaddle. At mid to high levels no one ever misses. I am all in favour of the critical hit damage reduction; I think it solves a lot of issues and opens up more interesting gameplay. I...

Re: Alternate Core Documents
I have a question about contrails. They are one of the tricks that doesn't have an AP cost. Does this mean they happen automatically? And for weaponized, how much contrail do they get for the TP cost? One movement action? Or their entire turn's movement? Contrails worry me slightly as Pegasi have ab...

Re: The Northern Empire: An Alternate Setting
I'm Thanqol's RL GM and I've always had a bit of a problem figuring out and balancing radiation numbers, what is lethal, what is survivable etc. As a result, it hasn't come up much in my games. What is a dangerous amount in combat, can be ridiculously deadly outside of it. Even 1 RAD a second will k...
