So far i like this story and your style is very nice. The only thing i could say so far on the down side is that it's not always clear what is going on, still it doesn't need to be explained because wall of text is bad no matter what.
So, in the end my opinion is: go for it, good job so far

I try to avoid making it word-heavy as much as I can, opting for visual appeal primarily. That's one thing I struggle to balance.. Minimal text vs. Clarity. I ought to be able to communicate enough with the visuals alone, but I'm figuring that out as I go as well.
