Early clock art in error

Back when people were saying pony days were 8 (16) hours long, due to the markings on the clock, they failed to notice that the hands were at what we would call the 4 o'clock position - mechanically impossible if those markings were correct. Without spilling too many secrets, I can now say that the old clock was incorrectly marked, and ponies have exactly the same number of hours in a day as we do.
Can you imagine the complaints they would get if My Little Pony taught kids that there were only 8 hours per day?

I still prefer 8 hour clocks/16 hour days, but it looks like the studio is changing the clocks in the show. It's kinda sad, it resulted in a very funny exchange in the FoE comments and messes up a bit of the story.

Since when was it a 8 hour day? Animators get bored and don't draw the clock right, doesn't make it canon.

Was drawn the same way multiple times... Anyway, animators got bored and forgot to draw humans, doesn't mean they aren't canon *trollface*

As I say above - it was always about lazy artists. The "8 hour" clock has its hands at the position for 4 o'clock on a "12 hour" clock, and that would be mechanically impossible if it really was operating on an 8 hour day. Personally, I think the time is mentioned so infrequently in FOE that that little oddity can be ignored. Perhaps someone goofed and miss-programmed all Stable 2 Pipbucks.

Now I'm sad (edit, I can't spell simple words), but will have to accept in show canon there are 24 hour days. But, in FoE canon...

I was actually the person who wrote the eleven o'clock line, and look at that clock - it's the 4 o'clock one I keep referring to!
Also, it appears thermometers work backwards..... Clearly another animator blunder.
