The ponies of Serenity Radio

[Quick Study]

Ok I'm trying to work on Chapter 2, but something else has occupied my mind. The names of the ponies of Serenity Radio. I'm wanting to parody the names off of the crew of the Serenity from Firefly. I have a few of them figured out, but some I haven't figured out and even others I haven't even thought of their race, colors, and cutie marks. Any help is appreciated, I mainly just want to get this down and posted to get it out of my head so I can focus on writing.

Firefly character - parody name - race - coat color - mane color - cutie mark

Malcome Reynolds - Old Reigns, broadcaster name Duster - pegasus - brown - rust - dashite brand
Zoe Washburne - Ship Side - pegasus - blue - black- dashite brand
Wash Washburne - Washboard - pegasus - green - yellow -three goslings or a leaf and a breeze wisp
Inara Serra - Ambassador - unicorn - amber - deep red streaked with gold - a cherry blossom flower
Kaylee Frye - Cozy Fire - earth pony -pink -orange- a crossed wrench and screwdriver
Jayne Cobb - Corn Cobb - earth pony - mud brown - red (always covered by a cunning hat) - a ammo box, with a small section of a ammo belt hanging out
Simon Tam - Spring Tide - unicorn - white - red - a scalpel, with a surgical needle and thread loosely coiling around it.
River Tam - Summer Moon - unicorn - purple - black - blank flank
Derrial Book - Good Book - earth pony - bluegray - streaks of white and gray - a tattered journal

Ok now that this is out of my mind for now I can focus on chapter 2.

Simon Tam is a hard one. I tried to think up some ideas for names that would go along with Summer Moon... that is if you're trying to have them be related. Here's some ideas.

• Spring Tide (When the conjunction or opposition of the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon occurs, approximately at the times of the Full Moon and the New Moon, the Sun acts to augment the tidal forces of the Moon, creating a higher than normal tide.)

• Waxing Moon (When a moon is moving from new moon to full moon)

• Sidereal Moon (In reference to Sidereal Month, the period of 27.32166 days which represents the Moon's movement through space relative to a start point amongst the stars.)

Of course, what to earth bound ponies know about the moon anyway?

Spring Tide sounds good and all of your suggestions where great as well Kashin, though to too sure on the cutie mark for Spring Tide. I thought about it some and I think I might make it a scalpel, with a surgical needle and thread loosely coiling around it.

Also naming Summer Moon, Summer Moon will work because the two of them came from a Stable. So they would have been able to see moon from pictures from books, and the name could also be a family name too.

thanks, I went with the brain because he is a brain surgeon, but med suplies might work (you could also go with a Fluttershy medbox)

thanks, I went with the brain because he is a brain surgeon, but med suplies might work (you could also go with a Fluttershy medbox)

He's actually a trauma surgeon, or that's what the firefly wiki says.

Yea I just want to have that mysterious background for him, and I could do it by making him either a pegasus or a zebra, and since I felt I have enough pegasi I went with zebra.
