Fallout Equestria: Hightide

Post by KingofMalta » Wed Apr 25, 2012 1:46 pm

Well Howdy folks.

Something of a draft summary opening for my project.
"There once was a city by the sea. The ponies of the city took and took from the sea, taking wealth and power. The city thrived and grew. All was well. Then the world ended. The city shattered the sea now sought to take from the city despite te sea still having incomparable riches. Two centuries have passed and the sea hungers."

Basically my plot is set in the city of Baltimare which I have designed from the real city of Baltimore. Water levels have risen in the city turning much of Baltimare into marshes and bogs filled with ruins though a few islands of hope exsist. From 'Boglurks' to 'Point Watchout!' the ruins of Baltimare are teeming with danger and hidden secrets coming to the water's surface.

In contrast to the main characters of FOE and PH I want my protagonist to start off as a selfish mate with few abilities and over the course be changed for the better. So far she is the daughter of the Overmare of Stable 39. Which didn't have a Overpony at the time it sealed shut so a aristocratic pony seized power and has since made the Stable his kingdom hence the selfishness of the protagonist.

I am going to try and involve aspects from the Fallout 3 DLCs and references from the first Fallout games like 'The Mare Nostrum' or the 'Corvus'. Like the Shi Huang Ti

Thinking on the subject of Mirelurks I have devised that in FOE they could be a result of a mutation amongst Turtles exposed to Taint. Therego, Boglurks. Large thick scalled beasts that walk on four legs (and a smaller pair of pincers below the neckline on some) and several dozen overlapping plates of greenish-brownish (depending on the variant) shell plates.
Fallout Mirelurk Kings being a result of Snapping Turtle mutations and the regular Mirelurks being amix of Horseshoecrabs/Blue crab mutations from radiation.
Habitats being near to exposed taint in still water or lightly flowing water such as a sunken subway tunnel a natural bog, or even a large fountain with a crashed skywagon full of taint

Tunnel Stallions you say?

They Rule!
XD

I just had to do a sketch after reading your post, hope you don't mind. But really, an opportunity to draw a greaser pony in a leather jacket? How could I resist? Adding a switchblade to the equation was just icing on the cake. Really tried to do this concept some degree of justice, I particularly enjoyed designing the logo and styling his mane into a Pompadour.

....and thus Pompadour, Leader of the Tunnel Stallions was born! Do you mind if I use him in my sidestory? Or even as cover art?

Absolutely, feel free to use him.
Just make sure and give me some credit ok? Also, If you like I can throw some color on him, maybe re-size the pic and toss some sort of background together? I mean, if you really are considering it for cover art I would love a chance to work with you and make it even better, especially if he is an actual character.

Btw, Pompadour is an awesome name for a pony.
LOL

Sure thing! I say I am considering it for cover art and I mean I am considering it for cover art. Now I will be thinking all day about how Pompadour will figure into the story more then I had planned for a leader of the Tunnel Stallions to. It will be interesting.

Oh, and thanks for the comment on my new deviant art page.

So do you have any clue what his mane and fur coloring is? I would love to go ahead and start work on coloring it for you.

Well I would say his mane would definitly be black. Though his fur I am not so sure. I'll let you decide!
