Hrm...the lower skill points per level might be a bit of a problem later on (I know Firefly would only be getting 5 points per level, and a character with a 10 int would only be getting 7), but that could always be modified if it become an issue. Other than that, it looks good. My thoughts are two fold:
With tags being increased to 20, will the bonus Blank Flank provides to the 'discovered' special talent be increased as well?
Skills: What about keeping the special coefficient for skills at 2x, but change the LCK/2 formula to straight LCK? So, a unicorn character with science as an untagged skill, a 9 intelligence and 6 luck would start with a 24 in Science, while a unicorn with similar stats and science as a tagged skill would start with a 44 in Science.
[edit]As a thought, since the number of skill points are being reduced, you might want to have skill points be similar in effect to Fallout 2, where a point put into a skill that was your tag skill would be worth twice as much as a point put into a skill that wasn't tagged. Did that make sense?

I like that idea!
Also on the note of Telekinetic grasp being for any unicorn, but requiring a perk. If it's a quest perk. I'd like to have it. I was already planning on grabbing that spell specifically of who Crossroad's Father was.
I also approve the Earth Ponies getting something else.

I second the idea of having the Group be named after the pony that dies.
As an aside: Godna, what LL means by "the proper perk" is the perk that enables a character to get Advanced Tier spells.

I change my vote to the pony that dies. Also, I agree with Viewing_Glass in terms of skill points for tagged skills, that would be useful. Everything else seems good, especially more bonuses to my earth pony.

I talked to Viewing Glass about it. It's a good idea in theory, but unlike Fallout 2 we cap at 100-120, and the default skill point growth reaches that very fast. A maxed out INT 5 character can have up to 5-6 100+ skills, and that is supposed to mean they excel it completely. That is a bit of an exaggeration, even more since, as a group game where the characters actually do contribute in the full extent of their capabilites (as opposed to the Fallouts where the companions are very limited about doing anything other than attacking), with some variation among the players, most or all the Skills can be competently covered just among their tags. Considering that, if I make their tags have a faster growth, they will be maxed out way too early, just as they are in other games. If you insist, I'm not going to refuse, but I don't think it's necessary or beneficial.
I rather intend to raise the starting skill total by raising the SPECIAL coeficient to 3x, meaning a high relevant SPECIAL would make a more significant difference.
I also intend to make Blank Flanks only receive full LUK for their skills up until the point they get their Cutie Mark and corresponding 3rd tag, because I don't think it's fair that a Blank Flank would get a permanent bonus when they get their CMs that a pony that already had a CM doesnt.

Littlepip kinda was, but even she still wasn't a master of half a dozen skills.
Anyway, playing the numbers a bit, I decided to actually make the earned skill points 5+INT/3, as suggested before by Viewing Glass, as well as base equal to related SPECIALx3 + Luck/2 and Tags worth 20. A single tagged skill can reach 120, and I'm considering extending the benefit to non-ponies as well. After all, a special brand on their special flank is not all there is when it comes to specialness.
