It's always bothered me that a skill roll can have a crit-success chance of 7% and a critfail chance of 4%, while another roll of potentially equal importance has crit-success chance of 10% and a critfail chance of 10%. It's probably one of my biggest pet-peeves with this system's rules as written. IMHO, all non-opposed, non-damage rolls should be the same (before any modifiers are applied, and target values notwithstanding).TicTac wrote:No offence, but that's something that I'm not a fan of doing. Re. Epic Skillz: Note that it doesn't come into play until lvl 20, and you need to get the skill to 100 in the first place. IMHO, at that point the characters should be that good at whatever skill it is—so good that luck takes a backseat when the character is using that skill. Mind you, the crit bonus only applies to the skill in question, only once it's at 101+, and it takes two or three times as many skill points as normal to raise the skill after it hits 100.
Still, if you're that concerned, Radio is free to use the rest of the doc while omitting the crit bonus, if he so chooses.
Moving on, I like the concept of the Virtue rules, but I'm not sure they're ready for primetime just yet. I shall abstain on this matter; I'm fine either way.
