I like the idea of a stabilizing spell, but I think the cost should be higher. Or the cost should directly influence the duration.

A basic, 5 strain cost spell that puts them into a coma for say...hours of potency. Only use able on targets with less than 0 HP. Your other friends polished off the enemy that put your friend on Death's Door, but you don't have anything to use to heal him, or the strain to heal him before he bleeds out. This spell would stave off death for a few hours, giving you time to rest or your friends to find a healing potion).

Another option would be to allow a player to cast the spell heal, but have it only heal 1 point of damage. Basically, stabilizing the target who is unconscious (Say its an enemy that you don't want to have wake up, but have no way to tie them up).

Thoughts?
See: "Restoration" spell. Same as "Heal", but half the Strain and duration in Minutes instead of Turns. Still immediately closes wounds.

The only reason I don't give it a higher cost is because the spell Heal has a strain cost of 10. Remember, this spell is just meant to stabilize a dying pony, not heal them. So they wouldn't gain the benefits of sleeping while under the effects of this spell.

Minor note: Lack of Fucks is now a perk. Blame the IRC.

Ah...point. I suppose that counts as stabilizing?

In other news, my group's first RL session went off flawlessly. Not that there was very much happening, but still!

Also, forwarding a question from one of my players: Why is it only Earth Ponies who can be cyberponies (judging from the perks)? For balance?

To a certain degree. Keep in mind that any pony can have cybernetics implanted: Calamity had cybernetics in his wing to strengthen it in the epilogue, if you recall. Only Earth Ponies can benefit from those perks.

There are also cybernetics that boost SPECIALs that anyone can benefit from, assuming they find a cybernetic surgeon to install them.

You know, before I checked, I could have sworn that anypony could take the first rank, and that the rest of them were EP only. I think I used to be like that, and to be honest I think I preferred it that way.
Bloody mess: The gift that keeps on gibbing.
