250 caps to start. Miscellaneous items... I don't really know. I just tossed in a lab coat and glasses... didn't bill myself for them. (Don't tell Ripped!)

You start with 250 caps, and all your starting items must be "purchased" out of that sum. Start with weapons and armor, and see how much you have left, and decide what else to "buy" with it.

For example, I've got my Griffon Repeater (50 caps), .32 Revolver (15 caps), 36 rounds of ammo for each (total of 90 caps), Leather Barding (25 caps), my not-actually-lucky Lucky Hat (5 caps), one Healing Potion (25 caps), four bandages (5 caps each), and my utility knife (5 caps), leaving me with 15 caps after all is said and done.
