LOAD DLC: Quartz Springs
DLC LOADED
INITIALIZING

NOTICE: This game is currently on indefinite hiatus, the reason being that my laptop died literally a week after Christmas and the gift-giving holidays were over, and it'll cost me a lot of money to get a replacement that I can actually work with. Until then the game is on hiatus. A shame that it happened before the first session even got started.

---

The Problem: You're out of caps, a homeless vagrant, and stuck in a festering hive of psychopaths and junkies. The only ponies keeping order in the large town bordering on small city are Shep and Malt, the Sheriff and Deputy. A mad bomber just killed five and injured a dozen others after yelling about some crazy religion he was a part of. It's a miracle the place hasn't been burned to the ground by the bandits camped outside. It's mindboggling how bad the beer and food is at the numerous bars. To round it off, nopony is hiring for a safe, well-paying job and there are rumors of an all-out war between the Red Hotel and the mysterious Steel Rangers-right at the same time that you and your penniless flank land in town.

The Solution: The situation in Quartz Springs is bad, real bad. Shep and Malt have their hooves full keeping the town in order, let alone dealing with the rest of their Hotel-assigned jurisdiction. That's where you come in- as a member of a posse. Hired to enforce the law. It's dangerous work he wants done, hunting down and bringing in bandits, outlaws, and murderers from all corners of the city and surrounding areas. Not well-paying, but you get a roof over your head and warm meals at the very least.

The Verdict: Hey, someone's gotta do it.

Heya, it's me. Your friendly neighborhood Cyberpunked. Tried my hand at a couple PnPs, they were fun, got to do some pretty fun stuff. That was all fine and dandy, for a time, but then the Fire Nation- sorry, inspiration struck me like a freight train while frantically trying to get even a modicum of sleep after a game that went on for a couple hours too long. Why not become the GM, run my own game, with blackjack and hookers? As inspiration struck like a freight train, and as I'm posting this in the PnP forum, you can see what happened. Don't expect much formality, I'm not a very serious kind of guy.

If you think that tiny blurb about being dirt-poor appeals to you, go ahead and sign up. But first, let's go over some rules.
  • -Your character will start at Level 3. You aren't fresh out of the Stable, but you also aren't the ponified Chuck Norris. Gotta start somewhere, right?
-A valid backstory for your character is required. Go wild, but remember: there needs to be a reason your character is dirt poor. Anything can work, there just needs to be a suspicious lack of caps on your person.
-I'm a newbie GM, let's get that straight. If I mess up, that's my fault, and I'm not gonna snap on you if you tell me that. Communication is key.
-You have 450 caps to buy stuff with, but any caps you don't spend will be removed at the start of the game. Spend wisely, because you're limited to Tier 0 and Tier 1 equipment only. I can make exceptions for special character related items, but as with all things, bring it up with me first.
-(NEW) When purchasing starting equipment, you may elect to take it in a poorer condition for a lower price: each degree of degradation is an additional -15% off of the base price of the weapon. Conversely, if you want to take it in "Perfect" condition, you can spend an additional 50% of the base price.
-If someone has created a ruleset for a race, bring it up to me. Races from the standard rules are A-okay except for Alicorns. Those are a no-no because the setting doesn't really allow for it.

    -Most of all, have fun.
The when and where of where and when this game is set isn't in need of precision or accuracy, but if you wanted a vague feeling just so you can adjust your backstory accordingly; long before Littlepip in a part of the Wasteland with lots of farmers, bandits, and adventure. Steel Rangers are rare- only a couple isolated pockets, the south having been considered a lower-priority target. The situation isn't particularly bad, I mean, hell, it's not Hoofington, so they've got that going for them, but they're certainly not New Pegas.

For rulesets, we'll be sticking with the tried-and-true trifecta of terror listed below. I'm providing a character sheet because it is just that much easier to go between them when it's standardized. Mad_Modd's equipment list is just easier to navigate, in my experience.

Kkat's Ruleset
Mad_Modd's Equipment List
Aqu's Character Sheet

I only got one house rule for you.
-Armor cannot reduce damage by more than 90% of it's original value, rounded up. An attack dealing ten damage would always deal at least one point of damage, regardless of DR or DT. As such, all attacks that hit will deal at least one point of damage.

So, soon as y'all have gathered your characters and your wits, go ahead and post. Time is iffy, any day that isn't Monday or Friday is A-okay, Saturday or Sunday evenings (7:00PM EST and later) being the most likely.

Games will be hosted on QuartzSprings and QuartzSpringsOOC.

Cast and Crew:
1: Volty Bolt as... Junebug.
2: Hazard as... Ironsights.
3: Whirlybird as... Sugar Pie.
4: Sophos as... Home Free.
5: TyrannisUmbra as... Zephyr.

Sorry dude, but I'm planning on it being a Saturday/Sunday game, looking like a Saturday. Shame you couldn't join, but that's the facts.

I've finally broken down and created an account on here, rather specifically for this PnP.

It has also come to my attention that I'm woefully unprepared for (though I'm working on it), and a 99.5% noob at PnPs, so please try not to get too flustered by noobish questions/actions from my direction. :bjshrug:

Here's my street thief colt, https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Dlwj ... sp=sharing

Let me know what you think. If you don't like Rad-Child, I was also thinking of taking a Martial Art.
