Contract Company (Cancelled For Good)
Posted: Mon Jun 08, 2015 12:06 am
Game is cancelled due to GM lack of interest and numerous scheduling conflicts.
ATTENTION WASTELANDERS:
Spider Contract Company is searching for NEW RECRUITS. If you are DOWN ON YOUR LUCK, in NEED OF CAPS, or SEARCHING FOR WORK, Spider Contract Company can offer YOU an opportunity. If you are WILLING to help Spider Contract Company, Spider can help YOU! All it takes is just one little signature, and you can be working with some of the BEST and BRIGHTEST contractors the wasteland has to offer.
See Rourke Steelwing of QUARTZTOWN for details, questions, and concerns. Housing and daily meals provided at low charge. Experience with firearms, energy weapons, battle saddles, or explosives preferred. Ability to engage in hoof-to-hoof combat a bonus. Must be able to work in a team with ponies you might not know, or with members of a different race (such as griffon or zebra). Equipment must be provided by signatory party(s) at signing of contract. Mandatory one-week training and evaluation period required.
Spider Contract Company; we're here for the little guy.
Contract Company is, frankly, kind of a simple game. You play the part of a new, freshly-signed contractor (NOT a mercenary, as SPIDER will tell you) in the sleepy little place called Quartztown. Jobs trickle in occasionally, though not very fast at first. After a little while, though, things start to pick up...
To give you a breakdown of the game, in terms of how it's going to go: 45% of it is going to be completing contracts, 35% is going to be pursuing your independent interests, 15% is going to be dealing with the events of the wasteland unfolding, and the last 5% is going to be random encounters.
DETAILS for CHARACTERS
Here's a set of questions you need to answer for me if you're interested in the game:
WHO is your character? Name, age, race, and personality are all preferred.
HOW do they act? With friends, with strangers, with authority figures?
WHAT do they want? Money, power, fame? Glory in battle or a sedentary life?
WHAT will they do to reach their goals?
Additionally, a couple of situational questions:
A ZEBRA FOAL stares at you, one you have never seen before. He asks you where his momma is, but what he doesn't know is that you passed her destroyed caravan a while ago. The foal doesn't seem to know about the accident... so what do you do with him? He'll not survive very far on his own, and seems to be a sweet, if simple-minded, child. However, your next destination happens to be many miles away, and you need to be there, fast. The foal will only slow you down. What do you do?
A DISSATISFIED HUSBAND hires you to (covertly) keep an eye on his wife while he's out of town. While watching her from a distance, you notice that she's spending a lot of time with a younger stallion. After much observation, you find that they're very close together. The husband has mentioned that neither he, nor his wife, have children in the age-range of that stallion, nor do they have family living in the town. It's possible the mare is cheating on her husband- however, you can't find enough evidence to point either way, and confronting the mare about it could end up blowing you out of your (sizable) pay. What do you do?
AN OLD GRIFFON confronts you. He's battle-hardened, obviously having been in a few battles in his time. When he sees you, he stops in the middle of the road, but doesn't open fire- approaching him, and beginning to talk about his strange behavior, he reveals that he's been searching for someone strong enough to kill him. Your party looks like it'll do the trick. However, he notes that he doesn't have too long to live, as a rampant disease is eating away at his years. He'll likely die within a week, but he wants to die on his own terms, not bedridden and sick, going out in a final blaze of glory. Do you grant him his wish of an honorable death, or do you leave him be?
DETAILS for GAMEPLAY
If you're going to go ahead and submit a character sheet, these are the guidelines. Use Kkat's Rules and Perk Revisions and Mad_Modd's equipment sheet.
Players start at Level 4.
If you Tag! a skill, it gains 25 points instead of 15. You ought to be at least partly experienced with the wasteland, and this represents that.
You have 150 caps to buy equipment with and an additional 50 caps for miscellaneous bits and gubbins, like medicine, kits, craftables, or personal items.
You are limited to Tier 0, with some restrictions on Tier 1 gear (must be taken with at least one condition level of degradation, but at full cost).
Weapon mods are only allowed for Tier 0 gear.
The game is going to (probably) be played on Saturday, starting at 7:00-8:00pm, running for three to four hours. Timezone is EST or GMT-4. Timezones are my bane Q.Q
