The quest for Sparkle Cola

So, I've been trying to find a carrot flavored soda ever since I read about Sparkle Cola. However, since I couldn't find a carrot flavored soda, I just had to go and make one.
I think I did pretty well for my first attempt though it was a learning experience and I'm sure my next batch will be better.
The recipe I used was this: 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, ~1 cup chopped carrots. (I used 3 medium sized carrots) and a pinch of cinnamon.
I boiled everything together until it was a syrupy consistency, which was a bad idea because once it cooled it was almost solid. I poured the mixture into just under a 2 liter bottle of soda water. (I had to pour out enough to let the syrup fit in the bottle) The result was... weird... but tasty.
