Zebra Culture

So yeah, I'm spamming the forum with threads right now. Deal with it. xD

Anyhow, I'll cut straight to the case.
When I play Fallout 3, I often stop for a while and think about how the rest of the world might be at that point. At the very least we can be quite sure that China is obliterated in the same manner as America, and that the rest of the world has been affected by the subsequent nuclear winter.
But then I realize that the same thing happening in America is probably happening all over the place; people surviving in roughly the same manner.

So yeah, I just used the same train of thought on Fo:E and realized that the Zebra lands have not been exploited in fanfics yet; I'm wondering if I want to write a little thing about that.
However, we know close to nothing about zebras, and that makes my cringe, due to my near OCD with being correct with details.

Could anyone who knows anything please tell me? I'll compile the knowledge into this post too.
I'm too tired to start right now, but I'll see what I can do tomorrow, if school doesn't ruin those plans again.

EDIT:

Facts:
Zebras are incapable of using pony magic so they use gem based talismans and alchemical potions. (core)
Zebras have limited supplies of the gems they need to produce these talismans. (core)
Zebra homes are treelike like Zecora's. (core)
Zebras have robots that match or exceed pony technology (core)
Zebra weapons have spell like enchantments such as fire. (core)
Zebras fear the stars (aliens, eldrich abominations, Q) as malevolent, twisted beast who delight in seeing equines tear each other apart. (core)
Zebras have superior stealth technology (core)
Zebras use Roman military ranks. (core)
Zebras speak a hybrid of Latin and Swahili. (Horizons)
Zebra lands are infested with monsters. (Horizons)
Zebras favored spears before firearms became common. (Horizons)

Theories:
Zebra buildings were probably less over-designed than their pony counterparts, so any adventure would have the zebra equivalent of Stables and high end government buildings there would be far less pre-war architecture.
While Zebras would probably have fewer twisted experiments, their larger monster concentration would keep the danger level about the same as Equestria.
Religious dogma would probably limit dangerous magical experiments, but not prevent them entirely.
=D

Well as Kkat's said little on the Zebra's, Somber has done a bit in his fanfiction. You could use that or make up your own. But if I remember correctly the front lines of the war where very close to, if not in Zebra land's. so they would have been a bit FUBARED before the megaspell's went off.

I kind of touched on it too, mentioning in my prologue that Equestria was able to get off some of their megaspells. Also from what I could tell from what KKat wrote, it seemed to me that a lost of Zebra lands where destroyed during the war, rather then in that last moment.

Also a venture into Zebra lands would be fun and I will even admit that even I've thought about it, but it wouldn't work for my story.

This is exactly what I needed =D

Hybrid of latin an swahili?
Oh bollocks. THAT'S going to get ugly once I start trying to emulate that. Probably especially so since I actually know a little latin, but no swahili. (It's very little, but it's there. xD )

Hm.
To put it this way; I don't think the zebra lands would be where the main part of an eventual story is going to be set. Too little info.

This would be really helpful for me too, since in The Longest Road, ghoulified zebra infiltrators and their indoctrinated live zebra subordinates will play an important role.
