PnP group 10, Causality
Re: PnP group 10, Causality
Don't be too hard on Cookies, Specter. He is doing his best (and his best is just awesome).
I mentioned the Canternet ajax client exactly because you don't have any hassle to use it. No install and it automatically uses canternet, so you don't need to define the server.
It doesn't include a password field, though, so you would have to use a command for that, if your username is registered. The command is:
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY nickname password

Re: PnP group 10, Causality
Thanks for the help guys, and again I am sorry for letting you down last Tuesday. Ill try and get in some private rp time with a few of you before the game this week so we can jump right into the next session with no hold up. Im also going to be populating a list of currently available items for sale at the individual stores so Shopping can go a lot faster next time, Ill update this list between visits to Clover and Ill try and get lists up for the other nearby settlements. I had planned on doing this last week but ran out of time as I was busy working of some commissions and helping family move.
Another thing That I will introduce is a new rule mechanic for the barter system that should also help stream line shopping in the future. Ill add it to the rules list as soon as I have it type up for you guys.
Also, how do I know if my username is registered or not?
Sorry if this is a question with an obvious answer leaf but like I said Im pretty lame when it comes to computer stuff.

Re: PnP group 10, Causality
well it's registered if you registered it before. Easy way to figure out is just to do /nick [your nickname] and see if the chat lets you keep it. If it doesn't, and you know the password, then to /nick again and then /ns identify [your password] (I think /ns is a lot easier than /msg nickserv)
Hope that cleared that up

Re: PnP group 10, Causality
That's it. When your username is registered, a warning will be sent to you to use the IDENTIFY command or switch your nick, or it automatically change your nick in 30 secs.
To register your nick use /ns REGISTER password email
Be careful for typos. It doesn't ask for confirmation.
If you want to register nicks for your RPG characters too, you don't need to create separate account to them. You can just GROUP them into your main account.
First IDENTIFY your main nick. Then change to the nick you want grouped. Then use the command /ns Group mainNick password
/ns and /msg NickServ are interchangeable. Both of them work, because the /ns command automatically translates to /msg NickServ

Spot of bad news. I have to leave around an hour into the PnP for a suddenly rescheduled eye exam and dinner, so... graah. @_@

So uh, I think I mentioned the whole scheduling problem with next week. Anyways, I think a fast way of seeing alternate times that work for everyone would be if everyone just selected the times that worked for them through this.

Session #008
Now, the session ended in a somewhat controversial way.
We had party members punching then pointing guns to each other.
Steel trying to stop the conflict with little success.
And finally Trefoil trying to kill herself with a grenade
(Sorry NitoKa. We really didn't plan to do it. One thing led to another and when we saw, it was like that.)
Should we rollback?
My personal opinion is an unwavering no.
If it doesn't happen now, it may happen later anyway, and if it doesn't we may just be holding back our characters because we want them to be the little pawns of our game. Ultimately they are, but what makes RPG more interesting than other games because of these impredictable situations. This can derail the hell of whatever was planned, but it doesn't have to mean the end of the game. We can still keep playing the implications of our decisions, moving along wherever they take us. And there is a lot of goals to be reached that can still be reached even if the party suffers fragmentation.
This group is the best one I ever played in all the games I played. Tonight's events don't make me lose hope either. This is not a disaster. This is an oportunity. The wasteland is fraught with conflict. This is not even that surprising. We can keep this going. This is, in fact, a very interesting situation.
If you think you are locked in a route of self-destruction, remember, the characters take a life of their own, but ultimately they come from you. You can always point them to different directions, as long as you can explain why they would do so. A character can choose differently, just as a person can. It's part of how they change, grow, or fall, and it's up to you.
Cookies is the one who has the final say, no doubt about that. Even then, I'd like to know each of your opinions on this.
The next question is directed to Green Bank. Is Trefoil going to die? If you want her to die, we can just declare her dead. She tried to kill herself with a grenade, I think we can just assume she will die if you'd rather just have her quit. Or can we save her? If she isn't going to quit living, we need to ask you to refrain Trefoil from trying to kill herself again. I think whatever consequences come to her are going to open her eyes and make her very afraid of what she tried to do.
Which leads to the last question: What are going to be the consequences? She did fire a grenade point-blank. And I don't think it's honest to call it a dud. It must explode and explode bad. What is it going to do? If she survives, in what state would she be? If she ends up permanently crippled, how is she going to keep up with the group? If she can't, what is she going to do?

Re: PnP group 10, Causality
thanks. just thanks guys. I feel really exailed from the group when big story things happen while I'm gone. normally i wouldnt care, but with the magnitude with these events, I just feel like my character should have been involved. I'm sick and tired of making excuses like, "Gizmo had gone off to do something else, you know away from everything that was fucking happening." And honestly, i cant think of an excuse. With this shit, Gizmo would have gotten involved, he would have defended somepony or something along those lines! I cant just write him in in a certain area!
but even with all my bitching and moaning, i would not like a rollback. It would feel fake, and honestly if events went any other way than what they did, i'm sure everypony else would feel cheated out of what they were trying to do.
I'm honestly just clueless on how to put Gizmo in, what Deus ex Machina excuse to fucking use. He cant have been exploring, he wouldnt have with the events that happened precombat. honestly, I cant just put him in to argue with the others or have followed Tre, because it didnt happen. He never did that. no matter how much I want him to have, he didnt. Gizmo is not me, Gizmo is Gizmo, I simply move him, but without me there, he never moved.
