I have some questions about magic?

Whats to keep some one from phasing a explosive into a body and cancelling the spell? If the target is for instance wearing armor, the grenade would as it is currently written be expelled from the body for a small amount of damage, but be trapped inside the armor. Anypony who knows much about explosives in RL should be able to tell you how bad this would be for the one wearing the armor. :trixieshiftright: (Remember the spell was cast on the grenade not the pony wearing the armor)

Using a character I currently have with a VER 8 and a POT 8 and one rank of mighty spell TK I can manipulate VER*(POT*2) objects or 128 objects that fit inside of a 16 foot cube. What is to keep the character from collecting say 128 wrecked cars and dropping them on targets as a rain of very heavy debris? Is there a reason so many objects can be handled by TK at one time? Even with a cost of 2 per 10m and 2 per object dropped on the basis of 'dropping' it will constitute an attack, its affordable to and seems overly effective for a given level to simply use large debris in combat. If the objects the character pics up are only 8 at the most in any dimension you could do it for a cost of one per. It just seems that even a non one trick pony can handle an insane number of objects.

What kind of car can you fit 128 of inside a 16x16x16' cube? Even if they're crushed, they're still big.

This spell allows a Unicorn to move (Potency * Versatility) objects, or perform fine manipulation on up to (Versatility) objects.

The caster may attempt to move or manipulate any object which fits into a cube of space equal to (Potency) feet on each side.

This has been interprited by everypony I know to mean each obeject may be up to 16'x16'16 not all objects must fit into a single space of that size.

...I think I see what your getting at, and I really like it. However, currently the rules state you can lift POT x VER objects, and each object fits in a cube that is POT feet on a side. If you specified that all the objects had to fit within the same cube, that would work quite well.

I'm 99.99% sure it's supposed to be ALL levitated objects must fit in ONE contiguous TK field or volume of space which does not exceed 16ft in any dimension.

If so then it needs to be made clear. If not maybe it should be changed to that.

If that's true, I've been misreading it from day one. Which, could have easily happened with the amount TK has changed since I started playing. :scootangel:

This is what I've followed since I started playing (way back when Kkat's magic stuff was first being developed.) Though, not necessarily contiguous, as long as the TOTAL volume of all objects combined does not exceed the listed number.

Oh, well, this makes a whole lot more sense.

From RAW (rules as written) Id argue thats wrong. See, it starts of defining that you can lift X number of objects. In the next paragraf it goes on by saying that "The weight of an object is irrelevant for the purposes of Telekinesis" and goes on by giving the size limit, always talking about a single object. And as mentioned earlier, we can lift x amount of (single) objects.

In any case, combined volume makes more sense, but the decription is lacking, if not incorrect, if so is the case.
I made some tokens to be used for virtual tabletops such as roll20, might be of interest if you like a playing field for your games.

Weight isn't the same thing as volume, so that's not an inconsistancy. It makes absolutely perfect sense, if you think of it like you personally trying to carry a bunch of things at once -- You can definitely carry a large number of objects, but at the same time you can only really carry a combined volume of objects as well before you just can't pick up anything else. You can carry 15 pencils in each hand -- or you can carry a single large shipping crate using both hands. It doesn't matter how much they weigh, but the size of them is the limiting factor.
