Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
Mad Modd's sheet and rules give SP at level 1, working as intended. It had to be changed TO this, earlier in the thread, in fact.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
The main link should be to a version of the sheet set up for the main ("Revised") ruleset, not Mad Modd's alternate ruleset.
Have a link to a version for his, by all means, but the official rules version should be first.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
Use the "Less Automated Sheet" link.
On that note, the "Automated Sheet" link should probably be removed entirely, since it is outdated and not worked on anymore.
We should also get back to working on the new google drive version soon.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
The "Less Automated Sheet"'s layout needs some work, and the Skills tab has some things that make me go "bwuh? o_0"
I dunno what I want to use now.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
What exactly do you mean?
Also we already got a new one in the works with the new Google Sheets: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
But that one is far from being used yet. If you have any suggestions concerning layout though, feel free to put some comments in.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
Before I go into what I dislike about the "Less Automated Sheet"--I think you could have "ported" the old versions to the new Google Sheets once it became the default for newly-created spreadsheet docs simply by opening the old version and going File > Make a copy.
As for the LAS, the stat blocks on the overview page feel too cramped together. The old Automated Sheet had a better layout with a good amount of negative space.
The "bwuh?" factor hit me when I looked at the stats page and wondered why there was an entire column where I was apparently supposed to fill in my INT value umpteen times. That's a simple cell reference, shouldn't it be included in the relevant formulae?
As for the new version, I disagree with removing all manipulatable fields from the overview page on the less-automated version. The overview is where we should be spending most of our time, and having to flip to another page to look something up should be the exception, not the rule; minimizing page-flipping means including a fair bit of information on the overview that has to be typed in. For the fully-automated version, sure, have it poll the relevant blocks on other pages for that info, but for the less-automated one, it still needs to be there, which is going to involve typing stuff in by hand.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
Yes, page flipping should be kept to a minimum. You are just mixing something up here. With what we are planning, you will only have to flip pages once you really need to edit something. As long as you are just looking it up, you won't do any page flipping at all.
The Overview page is for general role play, while the Combat page for example would be open during combat.
The thing with the INT is this: A simple cell reference won't work, simply because the value changes. Following the rules, you are to put in your permanent INT, the moment you reach the new level. Previous levels should not be affected by the INT value change. And that's where a simple cell reference won't work. And as long as we don't have an auto fill script, we have to do it manually.
And keep in mind that the 2.0 sheet's layout is pretty much only a placeholder as of now. I only grouped things together so far.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
As much as I disagreed with the decision, Kkat's rules now state that INT changes are retroactive for SP gains and the like. So yes, a simple cell reference will work.
And personally, I prefer having the combat information (really, as much information as possible) on the overview page itself.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
And that is where you are wrong.
But yes the layout is still debatable, but I won't change it on one person's opinion.
SourceImproving Skills: Each time your character gains a new level, she gains a number of skill points which may be freely distributed amongst her skills The number of skill points the character receives is equal to 10 + (INT / 2). This is not rounded, so characters with odd scores in Intelligence will gain an extra skill point on even levels. Enhancements or reductions to Intelligence do not change her number of skill points. Permanent changes to Intelligence do not affect skill points gained from previous levels.

Re: Automated and Less-Automated Character Sheets
I coulda sworn that was made retroactive, against my recommendations. o_0 Oh well, maybe I'm thinking of something else.
On the sheet I made a while back, I had an "SP/level" field with a formula based on current permanent INT, and a "total SP earned" field that calculated based on the former and the current level; if the permanent INT changed, I just added a bit to the latter formula to account for the levels before the change.
That's just me, though; I don't mind tweaking formulas mid-game. I don't expect the average player to want to do that.
