It was set in the age of Jack the Ripper and I was a Malkavian who's derangement was that he heard all of the OOC chatter around the table as voices in his head, but whenever I talked back, it was in character.

Exalted I really wanted to play Lunars or Sidereals, but I've only ever played Solars. (And I'm not very good at character creation) However, it was pretty fun regardless of the fact that my character was very underpowered compared to my team mates. I made up for it by being clever and thinking of things the GM didn't expect.

That Malkavian! What a cool idea.

<Scootaloo voice> Lunars and Sidereals are, like, hard. </Scootaloo voice>
Rand a mixed group once. It was awesome.

hi hi

Thanks :)

I guess it depends on which edition of Exalted you're playing. I'm told that Sidereal charms were a lot cooler in 1st edition, but Lunar charms were exceptionally squicky in the same.

Anyway, I can add one more to the list: Lacuna: This was a crazy, mind bending indy RPG that I recently played. I'm not sure how best to describe it other than we got thrown into a mission with little or not knowledge of anything at all, and had to figure out not only what we were supposed to do, but how to do it. Character creation was done on the spot, filling in a bubble sheet as part of our "entrance exam," and there was a really cool damage mechanic. The more stuff you do, the higher your heart rate gets. When you're in your target heart rate, you're more awesome. So there's a balance between letting yourself cool down too much and getting too involved.

My first tabletop RPG was a short Anima game last summer. Following that, the same GM started up an Exalted game which is still going (long-running due to only having sessions every other Friday), which I'm currently in.

I almost joined a game-in-progress of the Dresden Files RPG, but that system really works best if you're there from the beginning.

Played a lot of D&D 3.5 both irl and online.

Ran several D&D campaigns and also lots of one-shot dungeon crawls. I even did a Christmas-themed one once, with an Ettin playing the part of the Grinch (it was silly).

Did Mutants and Masterminds. Great system and fun to play around with, but our GM really had it in his head that we were playing a high powered game, making it relatively unfun when we told him we were playing characters that weren't min-maxed to the extreme. Needless to say the game didn't last relatively long because of this, we ended up pretty much abandoning it at that point.

Although I haven't played any D&D 4E games, I'm pretty familiar with the system. I've even developed some homebrew content for it but have yet to be able to run them due to lack of an active playgroup. I'd love to run it sometime, as I basically developed Naxxramas from World of Warcraft as a dungeon crawl type of game.

The most fun with a PnP game i've ever played was running Paranoia. The system (or lack therof) is great, it can be downright silly to play sometimes, and the most hilarious things can happen in a game if your players and GM are really into it. Link
