Attitude towards augmentation

Mornin'. Yet again, I'm spamming data-gathering threads. I guess I like dem numbers :pipshrug: xD

Anyhow. What I want to know this time is your maincharacters attitude towards augmentation of different types, and their moral views on it. So far, I have only thought of two different types: cybernetic augmentations and bio-magical augmentations.
Cybernetics should be known to most; it's essentially augmenting ones body with technology of various kinds. It can be anything from a microchip in the brain to replacing limbs with mechanical replacements.
Bio-magical augmentation is more augmenting the biology; for example with bone-strenghtening zebra brews (like what LittlePip got) and similar.

Now; assume your character is in the following scenario:
He or she is currently in a safe place, but knows (s)he will be going into danger again soon. He or she has the opportunity to recieve a purely beneficial augmentation; it is either a cybernetic or a bio-magical one. The benefits are exactly the same for both, but the benefit is not large enough to be "game-breaking"; I.E, they can go on without them with no significant problems. They require the same amount of recovery-time (for surgery, or for the brew to take effect, or something like that.) There are no drawbacks for either, and (for simplicity) no risk involved for either.
What would your character chose? Cybernetic, or bio-magical? Or perhaps neither?

I am not making this a poll because I'd like to hear the reasoning behind the choices :3

EDIT: Also! Assume that your character do not have any perks that will interfere in any way with either of the augments. Your character do still have any augments they already have; however, please avoid using "because it's the same type as what (s)he already has" reasoning.

Frost would choose (or rather chose) bio-magical augmentation. No further comment.

No particular reason as to why? *sadface*

Mm, perhaps because he already chose to do so in the past. If that's enough, now no further comment.

Bio-magical hooves down. Due to being biological enhancements of prior abilities, rather than mechanical hanger-ons, they are A) more subtle, not being obvious to the eye, allowing them to be used as an "ace-in-the-hole" when in combat, or bypass those with bias against augmentation undetected, and more importantly B) mechanical augmentation is more prone to breaking down/needing maintenance/external power supply etc.
Unless you are needing an ability that absolutely cannot be achieved by bio-magical means, I see no reason to resort to mechanical/cybernetic.

As a side note, I have absolutely no qualms held against the use of augmentation either. 100% pony, even if 50% metal. (Or other items besides metal.)

Right. This was not a question about what the characters have already chosen, but what they would chose if given the described opportunity, and why.

But oh well, I won't force you to talk xD

Neither.

Despite already being a cyborg Silver neithers trusts nor likes cybernetics. For bio-magical she'd refuse to get in the idea that "WTF IS THAT VOODOO SHIT".

Of course Serenity might convince her to get the cybernetics...

Despite being a full cyborg, given the option, Anne would remain 100% genuine pony. Why? Because that was how she was born.

Just out of curiosity, would you mind elaborating on that? I want to get different moral perspectives on this y'see; I have some difficulties figuring out peoples reasoning when their views don't coincide with my own and since I have absolutely no problems with augmentation (and even sees it as something favourable) I'm very curious why anyone would prefer not to have them :3

*majorly derps* Myyyy bad. Frost would choose bio-magical augmentation over cybernetic augmentation because one of his biggest fears is becoming anything close to robotic in nature. He doesn't want to become an automaton that only responds to direct orders with no capacity for moral choice or ability to take initiative in a situation. The fact that he has taken bio-magical augmentations in the past already would also make him lean more towards them.

Hope that answers that, and sorry. ^^;
