How do you join a PnP group?

Sorry if this is a stupid question as I know it is a very noob question.

I was part of an irl group for a long time but it has since disbanded. I would like to get back into Fallout Equestria PnP and have seen the work of Pantazaar promoting different characters from various groups.
I'm not a noob in the sense that I have never played the game before, but it was in real life not through a forum.

How do you go about joining a group? Do you ask the moderator or do you have to know them personally? Is the community open to new players?

Jump onto the irc, that's where you will find the majority of the chat regarding Groups and the like.

It is likely to be different from group to group, but a lot of games have some of the basic information about their game posted on these forums. There's also a "looking for group," thread, that might help some as well.

Keep an eye on this forum section. Most of the time when a new group pops up, a thread gets posted here for it and they'll say whether or not they're looking for openings. At which point you can post in the thread, or contact the GM on your own time (or both). Spots tend to fill up fast, so you generally need to see the thread on the day it goes up (or sometimes, within 6-12 hours of it going up)
