Campaign Base Ideas (Feel Free to Post your Own)

What I mean by the topic is that these are ideas that might make for an interesting campaign for the Players, and many do not need to be story based.

Ghoul Campaign: Everyone is a ghoul, and this would allow if a player would want, to be a Ghoul Diamond Dog should the sheet be made.

Tainted Campaign: Everyone makes their characters as normal, but either from the start or early on in the campaign, everyone has to make a roll on this chart after coming in contact with mandatory taint https://docs.google.com/document/d/12KN ... ugYaI/edit

Odd Group: Everyone has to play a different species that is not a pony. Buffalo, Hellhound, Alicorn, Minotaur, Baby Dragon, or even a Zebra! This lets the players have a bit of an oddity in the wastes without the need for Wildwasteland. Some will be shunned, others will be accepted, it's up to the GM!

Raider Group: Everybody is a raider but not the kill maim and rape raider, more like a more blood thirsty gang. This idea has been done, but since it wasn't prepared well in advance, the group had to shut down.

Please feel free to add your own ideas so people here can find these and try to use them in their own twists or stories!

On the idea of Raider Group: Change it to 'Bandit Group' and you have a much more palatable idea.

Palatable? Just throw some spicy sauce over it and eat it raw. Tasty, tasty pony flesh.
Raiders are part of FoE too. Taming it kinda takes away from the idea. It also has potential as a group trying to survive the advancing civilization of the wasteland.

What about

R&D Group: Everypony is trained in some form of science (including alchemical Survival and engineering Mechanics) and they try to retrieve and repurpose old world technology. These kind of characters are often in found in groups, but it could be interesting to give a greater focus on their work. Maybe we would have a group of Steel Ranger Scribes or another organization backing them. Maybe they don't know what their creations are being used for.

Pre-War Espionage: FoE's story is rife with companies and ministries secretly at each other's throats. Sounds like a fun thing to play.

All changeling group: Bring glory to the queen and hive! There's some room for a love entranced thrall or two but otherwise its all Changelings. Could also just be a group trying to establish a new hive.

I like all the ideas!

Merc Group: Everyone is either in a Mercenary squad together or they join up in one, taking on missions solely for caps.

Also, Bandit and Raider Group both sound like good ideas!

erottic groups:

Open the door to stable 34 and try to support this new hive of lust and debauchery from the wastes!

You are trapped in a huge underground laboratory trapped by a perverted computer core who wants to test out new chimera ponies.

Fallout Equestria: Prostitutes and Monster mares: a mix of the two!

it had to be done, and by golly i am shady so it will be me!

Aqua Cura Hunters:
With Equestria restored, dirty water is in high demand. Of course, braving the zebra wastelands is another matter all together. Angry tribals, desperate refugees, megaspell twisted wildlife and insane war robots make it a daunting proposition.

Rescue Tribals:
When some of your fellow tribesponies were taken by slavers, you and your companions set out to get them back. It was never going to be easy, but it was supposed to be straight forward. No one was expecting to find the slaver's stronghold smashed and the sky torn open. Where could the unaccounted for ponies have gone, and what do the locals mean when they say one of them was "taken by the goddess," anyways?

Small Town Life:
Your hometown has gotten by for almost a century, staying safely out of the way of trouble. When the seemingly ever-present clouds are pulled back and frightened pegasi start flooding in, seeking refuge from "the enclave civil war," your quiet town isn't going to stay quiet for long. Can you hold it together?

The Griffin Campaign:
In a furious surprise attack, the Enclave has declared war on you and everygriffin living above the clouds. Outnumbered, outgunned, with no hope of victory, you have one question; will you find a way to survive, or will you take as many of them with you before you die.

Civilization Shock:
It had been a sunny day, just like every day as far as... well, its all a little bit hazy really. The moment you woke up from your little nap at the Princess Luna Dream Research lab, you knew something was wrong. Where did the lab assistant go? How did so much dust pile up in a half an hour? What does that matrix terminal mean when it says: "System Halted, Runtime Fault: 200:08:12:04:54:32.599"

Children of the Goddess:
You are of one mind, one voice, but many bodies. You have given yourself a task, and you must not fail. (If anyone manages to pull this one off, please tell me how.)

The Far Side of the World:
Some ponies say that the war ended 200 years ago, but Captain Ablebody disagrees. His cruiser was on the far side of the world when the megaspells fell, along with his prey. You were born and raised, just like your parents and their parents, to one day serve the Equestrian Navy and continue the mission. Hunt down and destroy zebra ships. But if the war really ended 200 years ago, do you really need to keep fighting?

A Dangerous Legacy:
Equestria has been restored, the balefire radiation swept away, but there's one problem: There are still countless megaspells left unaccounted for. When the Followers of the Apocalypse learn that a megaspell bunker was recently raided and cleaned out, it is a race against time to find them before its too late.

A Weary Soul:
You've heard of the statuettes before. You've seen Velvet Remedy carrying them around New Canterlot on business, and you wouldn't have thought anything of it until the day some thief tried stealing her saddlebag, but only succeeded in scattering the contents across the floor. When you and a few others scrambled to help pick them up, you felt an unusual sensation for a brief moment, but you didn't think much of it. That night, the dreams started. You've tried to ignore them, but they won't stop. You can't explain why, but you know that there is somepony trapped out there, existing in agony, and the only way to ease her suffering is to destroy the statuettes. Something also tells you that their owners won't part with them easily.

Zebra lands: a game in the zebra lands. Players must have GM approval for any characters that aren't griffins or zebras. I got nothing else here.

Quest for the River Queen: the River Queen was a paddleboat that sailed up and down the Mareissippi after the bombs fell, but on her longest journey up the river she vanished. Players are a group of treasure seekers out to plunder the lost ship, but they'll have to trek through the dangerous Luneighsiana bayous first. Dangerous wildlife and mysterious tribals await.

Rise of the Pirate King: based on some stuff I did outlining the Mareibbean as a setting. The pirate king Red Tide is gathering his forces, and it's up to the PC's to stop him by uniting the various squabbling factions of the area. And if they fail? Well, he's named "Red Tide" for a reason...

The Dark Gate: Pranceylvania has long been rumored to be the homeland of dark magic. There's even a creepy castle supposedly built over Tartarus itself. Nopony's sure how much of that is true, but what is for sure is that this place is home to even more terrifyingly unexplained happenings than the rest of the Wasteland. For those who want some gothic horror with their apocalypse.

Bonus one, I'll explain how icekatze's Children of the Goddess might work: in FOE the alicorns Pip runs into in Canterlot display some individual thought because of interference in the Goddess's telepathy, so we know suc interference and thus alicorns operating as individuals is canon to FOE. For such a game, the players are a small cadre of alicorns sent to a part of the wasteland far from Maripony. Because of the distance, the telepathic link is weakened and these alicorns are granted their own minds to carry out the mission. They're not totally free, of course, they are still incapable of acting against a broad set of instructions they've been given. Besides those basic goals, though, they're free to do as they please.

Speaking of Pranceylvania, I have to wonder about the rest of the world outside Equestria and the Zebra lands. Sure they probably got necromantic fallout, but there could have been any number of cities/countries that weren't directly targeted. Possibly entire cities left intact, though possibly abandoned, for extra gothic horror.

KInda had seaponies on the mind lately, and after researching what little info we have in Gen 4 regarding them i think it would be pretty sweet to have a seapony game set in Aquastria. Would need a ton of work but would be rather interesting. Alternatively just a groop of surface ponies going under the waves (Theres a spell in the book/comic that give surfacers gills and 'fins'). Could incorporate some bioshock stuff and who knows what else. (A group of ponies and zebras maybe founded a 'rapture' of sorts in an attempt to get away from the war on the mainland.)
