Here I would like to present some samples of my techno-art, inspired by FoE and belonging to the days of the Great War (as well as US-Chinese War in Fallout, the Great War in Ekvestrii shown remarkably little - and yet it was a conflict that lasted for decades with significant progress in military science)!
"Tectra"-class fighter, Zebra Nation
"Tectra" -class fighter was developed by zebras at the beginning of the conflict, as the ultimate (at the time) response to Equestrian air superiority. It was useless to try to beat a pegasus in maneuverability. Therefore, the basic rate has been made to achieve superiority in speed and durability.
Doctrine of the new fighter was a "hit-and-run": to strike at top speed and go on afterburner from retaliation. The fighter was also to be strong enough to withstand a single hits. And he was supposed to be cheap enough for mass production.
The "Tectra" fully embodied this doctrine. A powerful engine allows the fighter to accelerate to Mach 0.89, which exceeded the speed of the vast majority of Pegasus. Two 40-mm automatic gun with a magically-enhanced fragmentation rounds ("life-seeker" spell were imposed on them, to ensure the shells detonate automatically when they approaching the Pegasus in blast radius ) allowed to shoot down rather poorly protected pegasus with no problems.
Appearing at the beginning of the war, “Tectra” fighters, for a time won control of the air, nearly drove the Equestrian air forces from the sky. The appearance of these machines has forced the Ministry to take radical steps to creating their own fighter.
I also love the little blurb about the aircraft that you do, not sure on the idea of Pegasus aircraft myself but its still kinda cool.
