Site Outage May 13th, 2014

As many noticed, the site (and the Book site) was down most of the day. This was due to "professionals" who thought it was a great idea to move a database over to a new server 5 days before they transfer the site. The amount of fail in that decision is amazing 
What made it worse is they transferred the backup system over 5 days ago as well. Which ment it was backing up the same out of date database for 5 days...
Thankfully, I was ably to get into the old server and remove the backups it was creating of the current database. They said they would be moving a fresh copy of the database over, but apparently that didn't happen
This was further slowed by the server timing out constantly as I tried to restore the database, requiring me to do it in little chunks at a time... over the last five hours... 
The good side: All the items, posts, etc have been restored (almost).
The bad side: Anything posted after about midnight is lost. Hopefully it wasn't much.
