or how ponies named after community members fare in the Wastes, Part I
INTRO
I still can't grasp why in Tartarus they decided to call this place Glittersprayed of all names.
It's like the ponies in power of The Goldenrod Weather - a wasteland town build in and around a Stable, and frankly, our "home" - decided to pull a last prank over us and give the most random name for a settlement they could get by smashing the keys of a terminal. Or maybe it's because they couldn't agree on any more sensible name. And personally I think it's a little bit from both columns. Lucky - to them - that I can direct my dissatisfaction to something much more productive than arguing with a bunch of "nobles".
This site, where we were "assigned" to build a settlement to, I quote, "project the power of The Goldenrod Weather and show the Wastes some true civilization". Like a few critters fancy our way of living - not to mention the Steel Rangers, of which we have heard rumours of residing along mountain ranges. And we're along one - great. That superior firepower is the last thing I need knocking on the door.
Bah, I'm rambling. The site - Glittersprayed, it was named, is mostly flat ground and, like most of the wastes, littered with pre-war techology. The slowly rising ridge to the East, towards the mountains, provides an excellent place to burrow into the ground and try to mimic - no, excel - the success of The Goldenrod Weather. With a stream flowing off to the west from our location, we could supply the settlement and its citizens - and cattle - with fresh water through most of the year. Now we just have to strike the earth and build ourselves a new home.
My name is Candy Vipertomb - friends call me Waak - and this is the story of The Lacy Stockade's (another name I can't grasp on) attempt at besting the Wasteland.
Hello hello, and let me explain this topic a bit.
For starters, I'm running a game on Fallout: Equestria mod for Dwarf Fortress where a bunch of ponies - Stable Dwellers, at that - try to build a shelter and scavenge pre-war technology amongst the environmental hazards, raiders and Steel Rangers. In this run I'll attempt to do so with community-named ponies at the helm - to either (unlikely) prosperity or (likely) doom.
