For those of you who have read Project Horizons, I'm sure the mechanics of Balefire eggs intrigued us all. For those of you who haven't, I'll explain briefly.
The balefire egg is an alchemically created megaspell, the point of which is large scale destruction. The most interesting part of it is what the spell that has been enhanced is. It's actually teleportation. The balefire bombs warp a large radius of land around them to another dimension, simultaneously moving the stuff from that dimension to this one. For the sake of simplicity, we'll call this dimension Necronia. Balefire is merely the atmosphere of the other dimension. Think of it as a flaming, necromantically charged ozone layer. After the bomb goes off, it swiftly swaps the city it targeted with the same amount of space in Necronia, swapping its incredibly destructive atmosphere with the city in question.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, what if someone were to sabotage the missiles before they were launched? What if, against all odds, somepony felt like this level of destruction was wrong, and reset the teleportation parameters to somewhere, anywhere else? What if, instead of being annihilated, the cities hit by balefire were transported elsewhere, to a new world lacking such sophisticated destructive energies?
