Since you asked: Backlash is a small-ish pegasus with even smaller wings. She's not much of a flier thanks to this.

Her coat's a vivid, eye-searing red-orange. Her eyes are light blue (like in my avatar). Her hair's mostly dark blue with streaks of electric blue and violet.

Her manestyle is much like Vinyl's, but shorter in the back and more pronounced on the side and top. Her tail is much like RD's, but blue and light blue instead of rainbow.

Finally, her CM is a black, eight-pointed sun.

Okey dokey.

When Backlash was in high school in Cloudsdale, there was a bully colt who constantly picked on her and her best friend. For years he kept up the abuse - never more than a push in the hallway or a mean remark, but unrelenting in his cruelty. Lash hated him deeply, but she had too much respect for her pacifistic friend to attack the bully herself. The teachers never bothered with him either, as his assaults generally went unnoticed, and Lash and her friend were too proud to tattle.

One day, Lash was out sick from school. Lying in her bed at home, she suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of dread. She feared for her friend's safety by herself, and so she dashed out of the house to find her.

She found her best friend lying still on the fairly quiet path to school. She'd been beaten harshly, but was still alive. The bully himself was still at the scene of the crime, seemingly in shock. Fueled by her rage, Lash charged at the stunned colt, pummeling him with the strongest blows she could muster.

The bully, who was dazed by the barbarity of his own actions when he realized just what he'd done to the friend, was killed by Backlash's flurry. Her cutie mark appeared at the moment of his death.

Lash's friend grew fearful of her, and they became estranged. Word spread, and she was soon known through the whole school as the 'colt killer.' In response to the colt's family's demands for restitution, and to the other various effects of her actions, her family decided it would be best for her to leave Cloudsdale.

She bounced from home to home for years before finally settling down in the woods outside Baltimare.
