Alternate Core Documents
Re: Alternate Core Documents
Whats to keep some one from phasing a explosive into a body and cancelling the spell? If the target is for instance wearing armor, the grenade would as it is currently written be expelled from the body for a small amount of damage, but be trapped inside the armor. Anypony who knows much about explosives in RL should be able to tell you how bad this would be for the one wearing the armor.
(Remember the spell was cast on the grenade not the pony wearing the armor)

Re: Alternate Core Documents
What stops this is the armor being nearly skintight. No place for the explosive to phase into reality inside the armor, so it would continue "pushing" out until it "found" enough space to exist on its own, which would be outside the armor.Ghostpony wrote:Whats to keep some one from phasing a explosive into a body and cancelling the spell? There is space enough for the grenade to squeeze in. comfortable? No. But armor isn't 'skin' tight, and there is space in it, no mater how tightly your trying to fit it or you couldn't move in it. Ive worn plate armor in RL. Trust me if it has been that tight a fight it wouldn't have worked.

I was hoping for something that was made for the actual FoE PnP, not from another game. I thought I came across a doc that made dark magic. *Sigh* Nevermind then if it doesn't exist.Ghostpony wrote: Base book has the black magic in it. Can be torrented once apon a time.

It gives a good basic outline for dark magic. Outside of that no I have never seen a doc for FOE in specific. As I said its been left deliberately vague.

Re: Alternate Core Documents
Plate armor is a much different beast from pretty much every kind of armor represented in this game except for Royal Guard Armor and Power Armor, and even from most armor worn by humans is different from what's in this game, too. Barding generally doesn't have joints to worry about keeping free from obstruction.Ghostpony wrote:TyrannisUmbra wrote:What stops this is the armor being nearly skintight. Armors in this game not named "Power Armor" are more the "reinforced clothing" or "kevlar bodyarmor" kind of armor, which is definitely worn tight enough to not fit a grenade under it.

Re: Alternate Core Documents
I'm just gonna hop in here and say that the armor worn is tight enough to be reliably in place while loose enough not to restrict movement. Even the armor that penalizes Agility reflects the awkward nature of that armor.
I also am going to support the idea that the explosive doesn't exit phase till its outside of the body and the armor. Let's not set the precedent of 'If it can squeeze into place as it phases out it works'.
Maybe it should be noted in phase that 'The object must have enough empty space to appear without interference from solid objects. Otherwise, it will shift until it has enough empty space.'

So our group finally finished a year and a half of Fallout Equestria.
One session a week, 3-8 hours per session, we got an awful lot done. We performed heroics and committed atrocities. We learned the magic of friendship from a omnicidal killbot and we managed to not betray each other for long enough to save the world. Character arcs rose and concluded. The group managed to inflict 5000 damage on a DT 50 target in three rounds. We killed a dragon and Comet Kicker learned that she didn't need to create a situation of mutually assured destruction in order to trust anyone. It was good gaming.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank Kkat and everyone here for their work in making the Fallout Equestria system. Without it I wouldn't have had a compelling conversation topic with the random dude behind me at the comic book store and I would never have entered that gaming circle at all. So thank you, whatever else you do or accomplish here the real objective - bringing people together - has been a success.

Re: Alternate Core Documents
A thought hit me concerning the phasing of grenades... What if you detonated a phased grenade inside someone? Would the explosion continue to be phased, or would it be a step-up from exploding someone's pants?
