An Idea to Help Raise Awareness of the PnP/FoE in General
An Idea to Help Raise Awareness of the PnP/FoE in General
Basically what I want to try and do is make some pre-made campaigns that are meant to be done in short bursts (like forty-five minutes or an hour) to be used at things like Tabletop days at game shops or Brony conventions. These will come with pre-made character sheets of normal archetypes you'd expect to help further cut down on time.
I'll provide links when I have them ready but I wanted to gauge the response to this idea. Who thinks this would help the community, and who has ideas for it?
The campaigns I plan on making so far are:
Looking for a Water Talisman
Raiding a Slaver Base.
Exploring a Stable (suggested by Viewing_Glass)
Escaping as Slaves, Crazy Clown's Sewer Maze, Manticore Hunting Party, Jewel Heist (from a dragon) (suggested by sophos)
The characters I have so far are
A Talon Merc, a Unicorn Healer, and an Earth Pony Tank.
Pegasus Saboteur, Pegasus Sleuth, Zebra Melee Combatant, Earth Pony Cyborg/Mechanic. (suggested by sophos)
Ready to Go Campaigns
Foal's Errand (by icekatze)
Like I said these are so far and I'm taking suggestions. It's my hope that we can get this out more. Basically I'd want us to take these to places and just give some tastes of this game. Be sure to have extras of everything so that you could pas them out to anyone interested in sharing it with friends.
So who thinks this is a good idea and who has ideas for characters or short campaigns?

This is an excellent idea, and I'd love to see it complete. No suggestions at the moment, but I may have some later on.

I think this is a great idea! Kind of like the D&D modules. I got my start in PnP using those before I was confident enough to start writing my own adventures.

I did try to write one myself about 2 years ago and I learned one thing. (well a few things but mostly this)
NEVER get to ambitious, do small modules, a town with a few quests, or a dungeon but leave it at that untill you KNOW you can write a bigger campaign.

Been meaning to do this a while, anyway.
Hopefully I'll be better at responding in the future, I plan to start work on the Water Talisman one soon.
Thanks.SilverlightPony wrote:This is an excellent idea, and I'd love to see it complete.
Kinda but not exactly, modules are full on campaigns right? These are just short burst ones meant to give the general overview and get someone new into FoE (hopefully it'll work).Arcane_Scroll wrote:I think this is a great idea! Kind of like the D&D modules. I got my start in PnP using those
I remember that, again don't worry these are meant to be short like hour long games for the reason of introducing people to FoE.Shady_steps wrote:I did try to write one myself about 2 years ago and I learned one thing. (well a few things but mostly this)

Module definition from google -- each of a set of standardized parts or independent units that can be used to construct a more complex structure, such as an item of furniture or a building.Arcane_Scroll wrote:I think this is a great idea! A full campaign is not a module, but can be built using several modules. A module is a (usually) small adventure/mission/event/location that you can plug into a campaign. Something meant to be played in a short 2 hour burst can most likely be used as a module, and perhaps it would be a good idea if you write them with this in mind? Really, the only thing you would have to do is to figure out a few plot hooks that can get the story on the tracks and BAM! you have a module.
I made some tokens to be used for virtual tabletops such as roll20, might be of interest if you like a playing field for your games.

Re: An Idea to Help Raise Awareness of the PnP/FoE in Genera
I do have an idea for a module. I call it:
Going Green
or
Let's explore the Abandoned Stable!
Because nothing could possibly be terrifying and/or lurking inside! Nope!

hi hi
Here is my contribution to the cause of further FO:E awareness, such as it is. (If anyone wants to convert it to the PnP system, feel free.)

This is a practical and inspired way to achieve the goal presented here; pat yourself on the back friend.
Character Ideas: Pegasus Saboteur. Pegasus Sleuth. Zebra Melee Combatant. Alicorn Mage. Drunk Hellhound. Ghoul Unicorn M.E.W. Sniper. Earth Pony Cyborg/Mechanic.
Quest Ideas: Tower Defense (two teams, one engaging and one defending). Escaping as Slaves. Pre-Waste Naval Battle (also two teams). Crazy Clown's Sewer Maze. Manticore Hunting Party. Jewel Heist (from a dragon). Something from Space Crashed in the Everfree!?
How are those?

If you want a one shot idea I've got a pretty good one. I was thinking of something like it for a big story but was having trouble.
