I'd recommend using the alternate character sheet. It's got a much better layout, and most of the calculation formulas are already set up. The only thing I had to tweak was the Potency and Versatility fields, which had no formulas at first.

Also, the starting adjustments to your SPECIAL stats should be made by adjusting the Base value. The +/- field is for temporary status effects.
