FoE: Flashpoint (Game Full)

Post by Note Worthy » Thu May 02, 2013 4:57 pm

Hello, everyone! I’m Sunlight Octave. :ajsmug: I haven’t read Fallout: Equestria yet—I’ve listened to it, which I thoroughly enjoyed doing. :rainbowdetermined2: After 2 weeks of driving and listening to it every day, I was ready to jump hooves first into the PnP community that I saw here. However, after the somewhat frustrating attempt :raritycry: :raritydespair: to find a current PnP group that’s looking for people to join up with it, I opted to the other alternative: create a game myself. :!:

Let me tell you a bit about my RP-ing background and experience. I’ve been involved on and off with Star Trek PBeM (play-by-e-mail) games for the better part of a decade, currently serving as a department head on the one I’m involved with. I’ve been part of the RP-ing aspect of the fandom since 2011 as various roles in the EquestriaDailyRP rooms, the most notable and longest being a Pegasus by the name of Sunrise Song.

I have been involved in a Savage Worlds of My Little Pony game since September of 2012 and served as the GM for a month long session recently. So, ready to throw my hat into the ring, I bring you Fallout: Equestria—Flashpoint.

At the time of this writing (May 2, 2013), I do not yet fully understand the system :rainbowhuh: ,but I will be studying and ready for you by June when this game will start. I’m looking for six players, but the action should work with as little as four.

Introduction

The Equestrian-Zebrica War has hit its boiling point, and the command to begin the end of the world was issued five minutes ago. Groups of ponies and griffons are all congregating in Neighayenne in an emergency conference, after having given the order for all ponies and griffons that were to be in Stable 59 to immediately report and for the Stable to be sealed earlier in the week as a precautionary measure. During the confenece, the local government is scrambling to determine the allocation of what little resources will survive the bombardment, as well as communicating with Maripony and Canterlot about the planned response from their megaspell missiles towards Zebrica for when the attack comes.

What started as a relatively normal day is shattered by the sound of the civil defense sirens in this distant suburb of Canterlot. Posters placed at various locations, all attributing to the efforts of the Ministries that are actively trying to prevent the war from reaching this point of no return. Controlled panic fills the town, as the last few prayers to Celestia and Luna are issued, and the hope that all this will end peacefully is quickly erased with doubt and fear. Believing that Neighayenne to not be a city of immediate interest, but understanding what will doubtlessly happen has brought all of you here, and now the theory becomes a practical reality.

Setting: Day Before Zero Hour and Onward
Location: Neighayenne
Rules:(Kkat's modified) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fsN ... nhjjpavxfq
Perks: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... MNVE#gid=8
Weapons List: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... Rnc#gid=25
Blank character sheet form: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... PMnc#gid=1
Aerial Maneuvers have been scrapped in favor of newly modified Pegasus Tricks, edited on May 20th.

Neighayenne
Spoiler: show
Neighayenne is small, almost forgotten suburb of Canterlot with a population of 17,500 ponies and griffons. Of the 17,500, two thousand have been selected to enter Stable 59 when and/or if a megaspell attack will occur. The city is located approximately 75 miles north and 20 miles west of Canterlot Proper. It has been chosen as Northern Emergency Operations Hub for the Ministry of Wartime Technology, with 1,000 employees on staff conducting research and completing administrative duties for the MWT that is not accomplished in Canterlot.

The terrain is between a low mountain range and hearty valley, with the western edge of the Canterlot Ridge to the east providing protection from extremes in weather not controlled by pegasi. Its industrial output is primarily agricultural, with five moderately sized farms to the northwest side of the city.
Stable 59
Spoiler: show
Located on the southern side of Neighayenne, the Stable has the same layout as Stable 2 and the same protection threshold. The population will consist of 1,750 ponies and 250 griffons, of as equal of a gender balance as possible. Of the outlay, 600 ponies have families and 85 griffons also have families.
Sunset Ridge Farms
Spoiler: show
Sunset Ridge Farms is the managing company for the farms in Neighayenne. Their largest facility serves as headquarters for the other four. The primary farming complex, largest of the five in the city, has two large barns, grain silos and other locations for general storage.
MWT EOH (Ministry of Wartime Technology Emergency Operations Hub)
Spoiler: show
Located in the middle of Neighayenne, the MWT EOH is one of the largest buildings in the city. It is equipped with standard issue security gear, as well as some experiments that were relegated to the EOH for further testing. Its staff is broken into 650 researchers, 250 administrative employees, 80 building operations staff, and 20 members of varying levels of management.
So, what I am looking for from applicants consists of the following:

• A completed character sheet. If you need help, ask me or somebody who knows. If you are making an OC for the first time, please use Kkat's guide for the basic information--my talents lie in the descriptive, not in the numeric.

+ Character Name
+ Character Species (No Ghoul of any type)
+ Moderately described character backstory
+ A picture of your character, either done in the Pony Creator or drawn

• What has brought them to Neighayenne
• Your current timezone
• Days you are available to play (preferably Friday and Saturday)

Current Roster:
1) Exodus -- BroadestPeak
2) Swept Wing -- TicTac
3) Swoop -- Timber
4) Ghinjo / Hala -- Adagio
5) Pandora -- Pandora

This will happen right as the war "ends" with the bombardment of Equestria and Zebrica. So based from the Preface. The game will start the day of the megaspell strikes.

Interesting choice of setting. Not sure how well it will work, but it's certainly interesting.

BTW, I strongly recommend finishing FoE before the game starts. There are some major revelations in the third act which may affect how you run the game.

Hmm. At that time, Civilians who are trying to stem off the attacks or help to alleviate when they do occur will be in the city primarily. Military...MWT has the EOH, so could be posted there too.

Now I'm confused. The only audiobook version I know of is Scorch_Mechanic's, which is only up to chapter 25. Were you using a reader app of some sort?
