Rule Suggestion:

Last Gasp: When a character is reduced to negative hitpoints, unless they die via chunky salsa, disintegration, or some other means that completely destroys the body they are allowed an Endurance (OR LUCK) check to hold on for one round. If they succeed in the check and are healed back into positive hitpoints they are unconscious and can make endurance checks on consecutive turns to wake up.

Dying in one round from full HP sucks. This is a hardcore setting, but we become attached to our characters and having a ghost of a chance sure does feel better than none at all. It can also give the Medic some real turmoil with triage in a combat situation. What do y'all think?
