Which disappoints me, very much. The weak sleep powder is way too terrible to be able to effectively used, for one. And I want better poisons >.>Dance_Explosion wrote:Only things full zebra alchamy does for you is, better poisons, smoke bombs, wall walking paste, wing talisman, and elixirs. which is actually alot provided your going for both perks and 100 survival.

Re: Alternate Core Documents
Death from Above should be reworded. I think that is what's causing some some feather's to get ruffled.
But yes griffins should be inherently stealthy or harder to detect. How about this perk.
Stealthy Hunter
Requirements
Griffin
Level:10 AGL:7
Ranks:2
"By the great EGG! Where did you come from?"
While sneaking you grant your opponent a -1 PER. for each rank of this perk. Even if you fail the roll.

ooooooooh no, not at all. that is one hell of a powerful perk, Gryphons do NOT need bonuses to sneak. not at all. they have all the damage bonuses, and all the perception bonuses. gryphons do not really need any work at all, they even have access to the new pegesi weather trick magic even!
Ask me about shamanism, i can FAQ it for you.

Agreed. Griffons aren't as rediculous about sneaking, but they are rediculous about finding those who would like to sneak. Let's not make them rediculous in both.

Jest think they need more cat feel. And there is only the one anti-sneak perk at level 20 "Watching like a griffin" and most other ones are combat oriented. They need more than killing things in their build.

Griffons are predators first and foremost. Mentioning any part of their anatomy separately may get you killed by said predator.SilverlightPony wrote:Griffons are birds of prey first, and cats second.Jackelmandingo wrote: Jest think they need more cat feel. Re: Alternate Core Documents
Zebras too could use bit of a buff. As they stand, all they can do is a) shamanism, which requires you to spend a trait, and b)item crafting, which is a pretty specific character archtype. If I wanted to play a zebra unarmed master, which is noted in the story to be an actual thing, I wouldn't get jack. There isn't really any reason to be a zebra if you're not going to be a shaman and/or an alchemist.

Re: Alternate Core Documents
I have some ideas to make the zebra melee/unarmed master a thing. However, they need testing before I want to submit them to the community.
Re: Alternate Core Documents
Eep. I'll admit, I haven't been paying attention to the thread this last week, and I have a bit of catching up to do. But just at a quick scan, a few things occur to me...
I'm thinking that we need to write up a section in the general rules for stealth. Airborne stealth should be a thing, and the griffin perk Death From Above should be rewritten to make them exceptional at it in a way that makes sense. (I would be inclined to make Death From Above identical to Ghost, but for aerial stealth bonuses.) We should codify perception bonuses against characters or monsters trying to sneak in broad daylight without any sort of cover. And, likewise, list bonuses for sneaking in poor lighting to go with the Ghost perk. The bonus from Ghost should be clarified as well, both stating that the doubling of bonuses breaks the +30 bonus cap (otherwise the perk is largely useless) and that the extra bonus can breach the skill cap (preventing the perk from becoming useless when you reach high ranks in the skill). Likewise, perception bonuses for detecting those attempting stealth in adverse sneaking conditions should be able to stack with other bonuses, and to boost effective Perception beyond 10.
