I'll start working on a character sheet and all that good stuff. Although I am confused on whether accepted characters means like accepted ideas, like Lucky Leaf's post, or full fledged sheets... Well, best to get started either way :p
I've discussed the character with DontAskForCookies at greater lengths before posting that, I don't know actually.

Unicorn, defence tree.

Tags: Melee, Speech, something

Essentially an attempt to make a 'royal guard' of sorts. Some details will be fleshed out once I get an idea of what the rest of the party is like. (Current thoughts are Medicine, or a ranged combat skill. Again, want to wait and see what the rest party has to cement it.)

Sheets not done, obviously. Final tag and skills will be added in, as mentioned earlier, when i get a feel of what the party has and what its lacking.

EDIT: Could try a jouster as well... If youd allow a unicorn to one trick pony the horn spell in the equipment list.

Centra Blu
Firearms, Unarmed, Survival

He's a quiet sort of pony who focuses on the things at hoof. He's strong and durable, and is able to handle the wastes on his own, but he sticks with a group so he may protect them with his ability to stand on his own. While this is very honorable and shows a strong ethical side of him, this brings him down when it comes down to ponies who choose to enslave others or generally those who take advantage of others.

I'm good for any day except Wednesdays and Sundays due to other games. Unless the time is before 4PM EST, I can make it any of those times.

I totally saw this post when it first showed up and was like "Oh I'll post when I get home"... bad choice.

Anywho, if time permits I would like to throw my own name into that mix of potential victi... er... candidates with Jackpot!
Jackpot is a socially awkward Luck based one trick medic! We're looking at MEW, Medicine and Science for tags here. He would love to join, but if there is people ahead of me in line please see to them first. First come, first serve and all.

Regardless, have a great day guys!

You guys should really let up with the sheets. We haven't even been told anything about character creation but that alicorns and batponies are allowed. We don't even know if we're starting at level 1 or not, and the GM is still making a list of special equipment to buy.

I'll submit a character concept though, a Zebra shaman, possibly blankflanked. Barter, Survival, and Unarmed, depending on the sheet we're using. If it's the Mad Modd one, Negotiation, Survivalism, and Unarmed Weapons.

ok, closing up applications for now as we have 11 candidates who want in. I'm going to review what has been posted and make an update in just a bit.

I have a few concerns about the skill system:
  • It's a bit unclear how Tagging works along with Tag ranks;
  • Too many skills have been split, we went from 14 to 21 . Even if the tags are doubled (are they?), by having the same number of tags, the same base formula and the same skill point growth rate leaves a vast swathe of skills nobody will be proficient in (and the system is made in a way any untagged skill is almost unusable even for simple things until late game);
  • From all the games I've been in, Lockpick has been barely used at all. I suggest not only Sleight of Hoof and Sneak should be reunited (since they got overespecialized to limited usefulness), but Lockpick should be added to them;
  • What is the practical application of Academics and Lore? It doesn't seem to deserve a tag. I think this kinds of tests should be SPECIAL based, Intelligence for academic, maybe Charisma for social. Maybe the players could list a number of areas of knowledge based on their Int? Otherwise, it should be combined with other skills, such as Alchemy & Chemistry and Survivalism & Traps;
  • From what I understand, Thrown Weapons are a way to give Melee/Unarmed characters a way to fight over distance, which is absolutely vital against flying enemies. Shouldn't it be reunited to one or both of them?
  • I'll take the opportunity to mention again how Battle Saddles swap Firearms, MEW and fired explosives for a single skill with a bunch of advantages and whose theoretical balancing downsides barely ever happen, then I'm going to hide behind that indestructible billboard before someone fires a balefire egg at me (using a Battle Saddle instead of Explosives) Psst, make it a lv 2 perk.
Edit: Since we are separating Alchemy, Shamanism and Spellcasting, a 4th tag would go handy, hm? :scootangel:
Edit edit: Maybe we could start above lv 1? None of our characters is a naive stablepony.
Edit edit edit: We are going to need a Pilot, so an extra Tag would be really nice, wouldn't it?
