Looks cool, personally I've always pictured them to look like the Kodiak from C&C4 Tiberian Twilight, but I see where you'r comming from. Only things I would have to say is that I though the story said it had fewer weapons and I think the propulsion system would work out better if it is distributed across the craft. Also I think propellers would work better since they would provide for better hovering.

Well, according to Calamity, clouds keep Raptors in the air, not the propellers (that's why Ditzy's Sonic Radboom cleared them off the sky): they are used to manouvering, while hovering is up to the cloud curtain. I imagined that means there's a slim cloud curtain on the belly of the ship, while the propellers moving the ship itself.

But wouldn't it make more since if the top of the ship was what was connected to the cloud layer to provide a unobstructed view of the ground. Also from what I got from that scene was it was the clouds that provided power to the Raptor, so when the cloud layer disappered the ship lost power. But now that I think about it I'm not too sure, guess time to reread the chapter.

Ehh, for me it was just that the control was in cloud. Don't know why.. but it was the way I imagined it.. '^^ In my mind, the Enclave had changed the controls into cloud because they were more secure. Oh, and they could make cloud easily and just recycle the electronics parts..

Don't remember the descriptions because when I read, my mind just keep the information he wants.. Stupid sleepy brain .. D:

Ok I reread the many descriptions of the Raptors and this is what I got.

It does specifically state that propellers are its form of propulsion, and if Littlepip was able to see them from the distance she was at then I would assume that they would be massive and easy to see. Plus since she idenified them as propellers then they probably arn't covered, like maybe they are connected on the sides.

It did say the clouds were comming from the sides, so maybe the cloud makers where also attached to the propeller section.

Also it says that the top turrets could be easily viewed though the hanger skylight and that they actually blocked some of the view of the outside. So I would think the turrets would much larger.

Also with the hanger it says that the far back wall had obsveration windows, but I can't figure out if back means the rear of the Raptor or the opposite wall of where you are.

When I first read the description, I was picturing something like shown in Laputa, Castle in the Sky.

Does anypony know if anyone has stated where the Raptors were developed and created, If noone has, then I would like to claim it. It would fit perfectly with my story.

Well, it was definately on the ground, and the tech to create more is lost to the pegasi so. Gogo make something neat out of it.
