The choice of names, why Fallout: Equestria?

As far as I am aware, the name Fallout: Equestria implies this is a Fallout story, with Equestrian settings or backstory.

Example,

The game Dragon Age: Awakenings was about Dragon Age, but with the theme of Darkspawns "awakening" and becoming clever.
The book Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring was about LOTR, with the main story of how Frodo met his companions and they traveled together to destroy the One Ring.
The movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer was about the FF and how they met the Silver Surfer, and stopped his master Galactus.

However, Fallout: Equestria turned out not only NOT to be a crossover of Fallout and MLP, but was in fact entirely a MLP story with Fallout elements in it.

My question, could there have been a better name for this story, besides something like My Little Pony: Fallout Equestria?

Was this a deliberate naming choice by Kkat in order to pull more Fallout fans into MLP as the name Fallout: Equestria would have looked more appealing to them?

I would guess it's simply the same reason as Fallout New Vegas reason for it's name. It's Fallout in Equestria. What lives in equestria? Ponies. What species would the main character be? Pony. What is the history of Equestria? The story of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic plus put slightly in the future.

Personally, I think the title sounds just so perfect and clean that I don't think there is any better for it. It perfectly explains what it is too, at least if you have seen enough of MLP: FiM to know that they live in Equestria.

Oh, you're thinking that way. Well, Fallout Equestria is indeed a MLP story, but it's a Equestria story too. It all happens in Equestria after all. Since Fallout doesn't have a direct storyline that it follows and instead let's the player choose what to do I would say that New Vegas is a story about New Vegas with Fallout elements. Just like Fallout: Equestria.

To me Fallout Equestria is a crossover of My Little Pony and Fallout so we probably see "Crossover" differently. It sounds to me that a crossover in your mind is either the exact Fallout story line with the main cast of My Little Pony thrown into it to fight alongside maybe the courier or with ponies replacing all humans completely which would be a boring story since if you have played the game you would know exactly what's going to happen. A copy or clone is useless in my mind.

Fallout: New Vegas is a story about New Vegas featuring humans.
Fallout: Equestria is a story about Equestria featuring ponies.

If you want to get technical, FoE isn't a crossover in the conventional sense, it's more of an adaptation. Conventional crossover stories involve locations and/or characters taken directly from both the source works. FoE simply takes many of the elements commonly found in Fallout, puts an MLP spin on them, and dumps them on a future version of Equestria.
