Enclave power armor question

Just a quick question. Does anypony think the stinger on the tail of the Enclave's power armor could be replaced with a pistol sized weapon, like a laser pistol.

Yeah, most likely. Couldn't be too large though, due to the recoil.
Of course, the only way to fire the weapon would be with the EFS, so if the armor lost power it would be useless.

And, it would remove the only melee weapon the wearer has, so I'd say be careful with that one. If it's the main character that's going to use it, I recommend giving him/her a few situations where (s)he really wishes (s)he still had that stinger. xD

Though, it might be unfeasible; it could be very difficult to maintain such an array. Assuming the magic crystals work on the same principles the laser weapons in Fallout 3 does, then the crystal array has to be very exactly positioned, or it will fuck itself up. All the potential scratches on the tip can't possibly be good for it's aiming either.

Could probably work on a shotgun principle and well. Fallout does not really have. Magic so id say the weaponry used in FO:E might be a tad more sturdy.

it`d work so long as the scorpion tail "sonic dish" is operational, but it wont be sturdy.

it`d work so long as the scorpion tail "sonic dish" is operational, but it wont be sturdy.

Actually what if I surrounded the coils that generate the pulse with blades. Kind of like the tip of a plasma caster.

Also the reason why I'm looking at a pulse weapon rather then a laser is because the main weapons of the armor will be twin tri-barrel gatling laser and for story wise I need a pulse weapon. So it's either this or use a pulse rifle and LAER combo on either side of the armor.

sounds like overkill just for an additional weapon. Id suggest you make it a different battlesaddle or a handheld mouthpiece.

Well I don't think weapons attached to power armors are that easily replaceable and I guess I could just have it as a mouthheld pistol since now that I think about it the Enclave power armor helmet's visor can lift up. Guess that would work better, plus it means I can introduce the pulse gun eariler in the story since she won't get her power armor till much later.
